Empowering Women in the Handloom Sector.
Welcome to the WICCI National Handloom Council, a federation dedicated to organizing, promoting, reviving, and uplifting women in the handloom industry. We are committed to empowering women artisans and entrepreneurs, enabling them to thrive, creating new platforms across the nation to highlight the achievements of the local artisans and a lasting impact in the handloom sector by bringing about fundamental changes in Governmental, policies, laws, and incentives.
With an inclusive ethos, WICCI - The Handlooms Council aims at active participation of women across all tiers of society, awakening awareness about Indian handlooms and aspiration toward self-enterprise, economic participation and societal leadership.
WICCI has stemmed out of All Ladies League, a platform to empower women, helping them expand their business by increasing their global influence through peer exchange, networking and cross border knowledge exchange, getting a chance to interact with some of the world’s inspiring leaders from different spheres. WICCI Handloom was incepted in 2020 with Sakina Ansari as the founding President to enable fundamental changes in governmental policies, laws and incentives with a view to robustly encourage and empower handloom business, industry and commerce across India. Now we have chapters in most of the states across the country working and collaborating on various projects.
